+++++ PART II – April 15th Greetings Oblate
Directors, Alleluia!
Christ is Risen! We are in the second week
of the Easter Season. I trust that your Holy Week was a time prayer
and reflection for each of us and that the Easter Season is a time of
rejoicing (at least spiritually). This time of year is surely blessed
with rich and beautiful liturgies. Our current NAABOD
membership is up to 47. Please check out our NAABOD membership web
page (http://www.naabod.org/naabod-member1.html) to make sure that your community name is listed. If it is not,
please send me an email and I will take care of it. I encourage each
of you to consider meeting with the monasteries of your region to discuss
matters of interest in your respective oblate chapters (deaneries, etc.).
It is nice to share our activities, our concerns, and our vision regarding
our respective oblate groups. As you plan your gathering, please
refer to the map http://www.naabod.org/map.htm
for the monasteries located
near you. Please continue
to send me (bgacnik@mtmc.edu) oblate news and ongoing formation information. A heartfelt thank
you to Sr. Patricia Schap of Annunciation Monastery
in Bismarck, ND and the University of Mary. Our next NAABOD Conference/Meetings
will be on July 12-17 on the campus of the University of Mary. We
will have our first planning meeting this spring in May. A gentle reminder
to directors to keep a list of oblates affiliated with your monastery
who have died since our NAABOD Conference/Meeting
at St. Meinrad’s, July 1-6, 2011. I have attached
the Huber and the Fitzpatrick talks from the NAABOD meeting last summer.
And, I have also attached notes taken by Ruth Engs for each presentation. Continued blessings
on your special ministry to our oblates and to Benedictine Spirituality
among the laity. Blessings &
Peace, +++++ Contributions
for this newsletter and web site are welcome. Please send them to: Bonita Gacnik, OSB
